I had to share this blog on blogging by Cathy Davidson. The more I blog and the more I like my blog, the more I find her words to be true. I do this as a semi-surreptitious project. I know that blogging does not count towards promotion. You do it at your peril, if it gets in the way of peer reviewed journal articles or grant writing! Davidson's post (no relative whatsoever that I know of) says so clearly what academics are struggling with vis-a-vis the blog.
